The Bolling Bunch - Day 4

On the final day of the "Bolling Bunch" project, I decided to venture up to the top of Mill Mountain and take the kids to the zoo. As much work as it is to pack up a car and prepare to be out of the house with 6 kids for several hours, to me, it was well worth it. My house stayed cleaner that way ;)

The zoo was a BIG success. The kids were all dressed in zoo attire and looking like mini zoo keepers. We used a ton of party favors left over from Lilah and Jaxon's Noah's Ark party. We turned A LOT of eyes. People stopped me left and right asking me if they were all my children. Most everyone who stopped asked, "Are they twins?" But they weren't referring to Lilah and Jax, they were referring to Lilah and Saleece.

Surprising this trip to the zoo went VERY smoothly. It was like a miniature field trip.

After the zoo, we returned home around 3 pm. I put the 4 youngest children down and left Tyson with Gianna for 15 minutes to grab something at the grocery store. While I was gone, Gianna and Ty cleaned the garage and prepare a card table for an ice cream social we planned to have after dinner. Gianna is a mini-me.

The day was beyond eventful. From a kids workout video, to the zoo, the an ice cream social, to Backyard Bible Club. Shew! Just reliving that day makes me tired. LOL! I hope you will enjoy viewing the photos and videos from that day!

The Bolling Bunch - Day 3

Today was a fun filled day. Gianna and Ty stuck to their normal routine and headed to sports camp at 8:30 am. I rushed around to get the other 4 kids ready and out the door by 9:30 am. I wanted to do something fun with them so we went to see at movie at Valley View Grande Cinema. We chose to see the movie "Barnyard Animals". It was a really cute movie and the kids sat through the entire thing minus 15 minutes. I was okay with leaving a few minutes early because I wanted to pick up the kids from camp today.

After naps, I loaded up 5/6 kids and headed to Burger King so the kids could eat and play before church. They seemed to enjoy it.

Salene was excited to go to church with us tonight because all of the kids were taking a bus to attend Backyard Bible Study. This was the highlight of Salene's day. She even went up to a stranger yesterday at the Bahama ice shack and said, "Hey you know what? I'm going on a bus tomorrow!" LOL!

The girls are starting to miss home, but they are maintaining great composer and anticipate mommy and/or daddy's arrival on Friday!!!!

The Bolling Bunch - Day 2

Here's a sneak peak into day two of the Bolling Bunch project. Things are still running smoothly, but I am pretty exhausted. I blame most of that on myself. I am not being disciplined enough to make myself go to bed when the kids do. I think it's because I don't want my entire day to be spent with kids and then go straight to be. I need quiet, relaxing, and brainless activity.

The morning started off a tad iffy. The kids didn't eat their breakfast great at all. I refused to cook another meal, so they were a tad cranky because they were hungry, but I'm not a short order cook.

After cleaning up from breakfast we headed upstairs to get ready to go to the South Salem park. It was there that we met the Harris family. The weather here has been so HOT that the kids were not really interested in enjoying all the amenities the park has to offer, but we still stayed about 1. 5 hours.

Lunch was prepared and devoured. I guess that's what happens when you don't eat your breakfast. At Gianna's request we had corn dogs. I bought them on a whim, for my kids, as a special treat and I was thrilled to find out that there were exactly 6 in the box (one per kid). I also served baked beans and fruit.

Ty left for "Extreme Recess" camp and the 5 other kids napped for 3 hours. Another successful day!!! I got 3 loads of laundry down and put away. After the kids woke up, Gianna set the table again, the kids played in the basement, and I cooked tacos, black beans, rice, and apple slices. It left a HUGE mess in our kitchen. The shredded cheese was EVERYWHERE. Darren and I cleaned it up while "G" took the kids outside to play in the sprinkler. Then we took the kids to get a Hawaiian Ice. They LOVED it. It was the most quiet they have been ALLLL day. After arriving home, we did baths and BED!

Until tomorrow......

The Bolling Bunch!

"There's a story, of man named Darren, he was living with three kids of his own....." Okay, so our song wouldn't really go like this, but this week we do feel like the Brady bunch! My father and step-mom are moving from their home in Raleigh to a different home. I offered the only HELP I knew how and offered to keep my two little sisters as well as their 10 year old cousin from New York. Currently, I have 6 kids under the age of 10 to care for and tend to for a minimum of 3 days/ maximum of 5 days. Their ages are... (3) 2 year olds, (1) 4 year old, (1) 6 year old, and (1) 10 year old (Gianna). Surprisingly and in an eerie way, things were beyond smooth today. Here's a sneak peak into our day!

Our agenda is rather intense as this week Tyson is signed up for 2 camps with a potential to go to three.

8:45 pm Leave for Sports Camp at West Salem Baptist Church - Gianna is also attending it and loves it.
11:45 pm Head home for lunch.
12:30 pm Head to the Greenridge Recreation Center for "Extreme Recess Camp"
5:30 pm Ty returns home.
5:30 pm Dinner
7:00 pm Baths for the three littlest ones
8:00 pm Bed for the three littlest ones
8:0oo pm Baths for the three older ones
9:00 pm Bed for Ty and Salene
Gianna just stays up with me at night.

I a BEYOND thankful for Dana Reed, Lauree Brown, and Jenny Murphy for all of their help with transportation so I do not have to drag 6 kids out all day long. Thanks to them, I am able to spend some quality time with the younger ones. Today we played outside until 11:30 pm. The kids napped from 1:00 pm - 3:45 pm. We also did the pool later in the evening.

All 5 kids took a nap in the same room. I'm still not sure how I managed to pull that one off successfully. You can barely see Jax, but I took a video clip of it because I was so astonished. Keeping my fingers crossed that this happens everyday. It allowed me to get my dishwasher unloaded and my laundry caught up.

At dinner, we played "thorn and rose". We asked the kids what their thorn and their rose were for the day. Gianna was really the only one who answered. She stated, "My rose was going to Sports Camp, my thorn was when we got locked out of the house." I took the kids for a wagon ride at 3:45 pm (100 degree weather) and we got locked out. UGH. Poor Darren had to come home from work early to let us in.

Also, here's a little taste of life with "triplets" instead of twins. This was taken after BATH time.
I love their little hineys.
