Disney Hair Bow Must Haves For "Bow-skeez"

Lilah may have well been born with a bow in her hair.  We love them, she loves them, and daddy has even nick named her "Bow-skeeez". The day Lilah decides bows are no longer for her, we will have to have a serious heart to heart OR mommy's heart will be broken.  ONE OR THE OTHER.  LOL!  It's no surprise, our family's outfits are very much coordinated for Disney. That was the HARDEST part of planning this trip. 7 days of clothing x 5 people AND COORDINATED, OUCH!  Painfully impossible.  Anyhooo, I had to have matching hairs bows for our little princess.  ETSY was my go to for these.  Each bow was from a different seller.  They are so gorgeous.

All of my bows were custom made to match Lilah's Disney outfits. These photos were taken in two seconds and do the bows absolutely NO justice.  When I get back from Disney, I may have to redo this post, just to show the true beauty of the bows.
These Tink bows and the Princess bow underneath it, came from LittleGirlBigBow
 This bow came from Lizzy'sBugBowtique
This is ONE of my FAVORITES!!!! It GORGEOUS!!!!! Came from SweetAndCuteBows
These last two are actually "headbands" or wraps.  They came from the same Etsy seller.  The shop's name is BellasBowtique2008
I love the bottom headband because, with Lilah's hair UP, she will look similar to Cinderella.  She will actually be wearing a cinderella shirt with this headband.
This little girl was great advertisement, for me, when I was on a hunt for a Cinderella look-a-like hair accessory.

One Link Left...

Tomorrow, this link will be GONE and off we will be, to the long awaited Disney World!!!! Yeah!!! The final link says, "We're Leaving For Disney World Today!!!!!"

HERS & hers Disney Nails!

Lilah and I couldn't leave town without a fresh manicure embellished with some Disney art!  Yes... I am the cheesy mom who dresses like Tinker Belle and sports Mickey Mouse on her nails!  And I am proud of it...
I got Mickey Mouse and Lilah got Minnie Mouse. Both of our nails look much better in person. This was a quick shot, using my cell.

Disney Easter Egg Hunt

It's one of our family favorite traditions.... an Easter egg hunt. We do it every year and the kids are nothing but smiles. After church, our family ate lunch together, and the kids went upstairs for about 20 minutes to watch a movie while Darren and I hid the eggs. This year, we had a theme for our hunt. DISNEY! I'm sure that is not a surprise to you.  LOL!

There were a ton, ton, ton of eggs.  Darren and I were actually running out of hiding spots, so we just started throwing them in the grass. I bought as many disney character "eggs" as I could find, but for the plain eggs, I spruced them up a bit, by hot gluing Disney character stickers to them.

We had a few "rules" for the hunt...

1. Youngest gets a 10 second lead, then second youngest, then oldest.  Lilah left after second 10.  Ty left after second 20.
2.  No pushing, shoving, or arguing.  Anyone who is caught doing that has to "freeze" for 10 seconds.
3.  Everyone has to have, at the end, at least 25 eggs with pins in it.
4.  Lilah, be on the look out for two LARGE pink eggs, Jax one large green and blue, and Ty one large yellow and green.
5.  NO eggs are allowed to be opened before the hunt is finished.
6.  All the golden and silvered eggs are hidden in this hunt.

Enjoy the photos!  It was so nice to see the smiles on the kids faces as they ran for their lives to collect eggs.
Inside these over sized eggs were some special disney items that the kids will be using on the trip! Each egg had different stuff in it because each egg was a tad smaller than the next. For instance, Jax's egg had a light up Mickey mouse fan, an electronic disney tooth brush, and his penny press container filled with quarters and pennies.
 Hidden Eggs
 One of the golden eggs.
"On your mark, get set, go!!!!!!!!!!!"
 Youngest goes first...
 2nd youngest...
Then Oldest....
Tyson was a good sport about the delay and it didn't slow him down or stop him ONE bit.  He still collected the most eggs.
Lilah found a "silvered" egg.  Both the silvered and golden egg had "Disney Dollars" in them.  I stuffed about $50 worth of Disney dollars in eggs.  Lilah collected $7 worth.  LOL!  I will be exchanging these Disney dollars for real money.  The kids can use them to spend at Disney.
After it was al over with, the kids laid out a beach towel and went to town emptying their eggs.  And now for the great reveal and exchange.
Some Egg Fillers
Candy
Gum
75 of the eggs had Disney trading pins
Google+ Gift Cards for their tablets.
Disney gummies
Disney play jewelry
Disney dollars
Mickey Mouse stickers
Mickey Mouse bandaids
And more...
It was a fun event for our family to do together. It creates wonderful memories filled with loads of smiles.  Did it take us far from the true meaning of Easter that day? NO!!! It's no different from the  "distractions" that take place from pigging out with family, watching a movie, taking a nap, mowing the lawn or grocery shopping.  It didn't trump our love for Christ, never has, never will!
I'll post the rest of the photos, below, later today, using Picasa!!

Happy Resurrection Day!

Today was fantastic.  First, a yummy/homemade breakfast; we are always thankful for food. Then off to worship our King because He's ALIVE! Praise God!  His sacrifice and rising from the dead has allowed us a second chance at communion with a Holy God! Hallelujah.

Here we are on Easter Sunday! Handsome and goofy!
We took the time to dress up a little extra spiffy, for Jesus, so it has been our tradition to snap some family shots before doing our family Easter egg hunt and Easter baskets.
I literally just put my camera on a tripod and set the self timer.  Who needs a professional photographer?  LOL!!
We had to throw in a goofy picture.
God, I thank you that you were willing to give up your only Son, Jesus Christ, even for a wretched sinner like me AND while I was a hater of you. Jesus, I thank you that you were obedient to the Father, sparing your life, your sinless, spotless, perfect life, for ME.  It's a mystery that you endured all that you did and rose from the dead, but WE BELIEVE! And we long for the day we meet you face to face. You are our King! You are our redeemer! You are our E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!

An Egg-Stra Special Wreath!

I wanted to make one of my best friends and children's director of our children's ministry (Erin Carroll) a gift for Easter.  I wanted to give her something small to express a BIG thanks for all that she does for the little learners that we shepherd.  My idea started with something for Easter.  It then turned into a homemade wreath, BUT... it was going to be a circular egg wreath.  At the very last moment, a light bulb went off... "I KNOW... I'll make a cross-shaped wreath. PERFECT.

Supplies Needed:
A Large Cardboard Box - FREE
Plastic Eggs - $2.00 ($1.00 per bag)
Grass - $1.00
Hot Glue Gun
With no directions in hand, I promise, I didn't even look it up on google or pinterest, I got to work. Tracing a cross onto a very large cardboard box. I just happened to be at AC Moore when they were emptying boxes. :) SCORE!
Here my hubby is holding up the cross shaped cardboard that I cut out.
Hot glue eggs onto cardboard, in any order you desire. I suggest making sure they are all going in the same direction.
 Almost done!
Hot glue empty spaces and insert grass into gaps, where you can see cardboard.  I used a pencil (the eraser side) to help stick the grass to the glue so I didn't burn my fingers.
This wreath was in desperate need of a haircut.  So I went to town on it's hair! I felt like Edward Scissor Hands.
 The evidence.
All done!  I have a few areas that still need a tad more grass. I ran out of hot glue.  Boooo! So I will deliver this wreath, as is, to Erin tomorrow.  I am enclosing some extra grass, a few extra eggs in chase the others ever fall off, and a second cross cut out for her to glue to the back for reinforcement. I hope she likes it!
