Baby Shower, Baby Ducks, and Slurpy Fun!

On Wednesday, 4/6 of our "Sensational 6" met to finish up the details for Ashely's baby shower. When we were through, Erin invited the twins and I to the tractor supply store to visit with the baby chicks and baby ducks. It was so sweet to hear their little chirps. The kids loved touching them. Afterwards, we headed over to Sam's club to enjoy a hot dog and a large diet coke. I bought the twins a slurpy and Lilah was beyond willing to share hers with Julia. I didn't have my Canon Rebel with me, but I was able to capture a few shots with my Canon PowerShot.

They were all giggles and drank every last drop!!!

Happy 35th Darren/Daddy!!!!

The "Big D" turns the BIG 35 and doesn't he look AWESOME? I am grateful for his dedication to staying in shape in order to keep up with our three children. I remember when I was pregnant with Ty, Darren said, "One thing is for sure, I will NEVER allow Tyson to be stronger than me!"

So how did we celebrate? Well, we did go to Charlotte, but being Darren's birthday hadn't passed yet, I really looked at that trip as a post celebration for Valentine's Day. On his actual birthday, I made one of Darren's favorite meals... Italian Sausage Soup and Whole Grain Garlic Bread! I did everything I could to make it feel like his special day... balloons on the mailbox, a dressed up dinner table, wrapped gifts, and I even made a sugar-free dessert that he has been asking for for the last three birthdays and I've just never gotten around to. Don't judge, recall, I did give birth to twins in the last three years :) The dessert was a sugar-free chocolate eclair dessert. MMMMM! I think it's calling my name right now, lol!

Darren received a few nice gifts too.... a basket of protein bars, sugar-free atkins oreos, protein powder, mint chocolate chip gum, granola mix etc... I also splurged and got him the NEW P90X Part 2. It looks INSANE. The kids gave daddy a hokie t-shirt and the Tim Tebow book.

So I thought the door sign just read, "Happy Birthday!", but instead it said, "Happy 21st Birthday!" I had to improvise and make a 35. LOL!

This is the FAMOUS cake that Darren's dear friend Aaron Fernandez delivered to him at WORK! So funny. The photo is a picture of Darren from the tough mudder days. Guys don't normally do these sorts of things for their male friends, I know. I think this meant more to me than it did to him :) Aaron, thank you for going that extra mile for BIG D!

PS. My kids' poop is STILL blue!

You've Got Mail!

In honor of LOVE day, I wanted to shower my little lovies with some goodies. I made them wait until about 7:00 pm to open everything. I really wanted this holiday of LOVE to last all day!! It's such a great feeling to love and to be loved, isn't it?

Anyway, I decided to buy the kids their very own mailboxes and put their names on them so that next year, when we write love notes to each other, in the month of February, it will be easier to tell who's "got mail!"

The kids were in such awe and so, so, so, so thankful of everything. The gifts sure did get appreciated much more when they had someone to thank rather than Santa. Tyson was continually saying, "Thank you so much mommy!" "This is so awesome!" "Oh, I love this book!"

I passed these out to the kids and to the hubby! Darren didn't waste any time using one of them, but he claims these coupons don't really work. Apparently, I reject them when he tries to hand them to me?!?!?!?! That's not entirely TRUE. I just don't drop what I am doing because he's ready to hand me a coupon. LOL!

Lilah and Jaxon's teacher, Mrs. Amy, is always so sweet. I leave her my camera and she is so willing to snap away. You'd think my camera has the same brain I have, but I think Ms. Amy does. She takes pictures the same way I do. Detail, detail, detail!
