THIS YEAR...

I thought this would be fun to fill out! This "questionnaire" is separate from the "mental notes" I plan to post about.

A bad habit I'm going to break.  - Pealing my nail polish off.  When I do this, it tears layers and layers of healthy nail off, making my nails brittle and weak until my next manicure.

A new skill I'd like to learn. -  There are a ton of skills that I'd LOVE to learn.  One is the art of "cutting".  I'd love to take a class on how to chop, cut, dice and slice foods and then maybe invest in a great knife set.  OR I'd give anything to learn how to design my own printables or clip art that I, so often, find being sold on ETSY.  I'm fairly crafty with WORD, but I know there is a lot more that I could learn.

A person I'd like to be more like. - My best friend Ashely is incredible.  She's fun, goofy, loving, heart-felt, joyful, a great wife and mom, enjoys cooking, energetic, positive, hopeful, involved, hospitable, friendly, encouraging, reliable, caring… The list is truly endless, but the most beautiful thing about her is that her focus is FIRST AND FOREMOST, CHRIST and her desire to grow intimately with HIM daily.  We text each other every morning, at 4:45 am, so we can hold each other accountable to study.  Sometimes we both fail, due to a rough night of sleep, sickness etc., but regardless, she always finds a way to grow spiritually daily.  Sometimes, not purposefully, if I don't study in the early am, I can get lost in responsibilities of the day and fail to get in the word.  It's not my preference, but only one person lived a perfect life and I know He forgives me on those days!

One thing I'd like to start I said "one", but I really have TWO.  I WANT and NEED to start a calendar.  Yes, can you believe I have (2) almost 5 year olds and (1) almost 9 year old and to this day, I go STRICTLY by memory? Doctor's appointments, field trips, school parties, athletic events, birthday parties, church events, etc…. My brain is slowly failing me.  The other, is more FUN. I want to start collecting ONLY MY FAVORITE recipes and file them safely away so that in a 5 years or so, I can print and bind a REAL cook/recipe book for Lilah.  I plan to hand this to her on her wedding day, so I have plenty of time to accomplish this and try out the best of the best recipes, but I am so bad about keeping the recipes in a safe spot.

A good deed I am going to do. - My faith tells me that you "should not let the right hand know what the left hand is doing" (Matthew 6:3), so please know I am NOT sharing this to brag. One area I need to grow greatly in is being hospitable.  So… I have agreed to bring a family, in our church, a hot meal every several weeks.  Our church family provides meals to the Park's family, every Thursday.  They are a family who dealt with a very tragic/difficult situation when their "normal" functioning 8 year old, all of the sudden went deaf and blind and entered into an 8 month coma, after some serious health conditions (brain tumors).  I am hoping that bringing Taylor and his family a meal will increase my desire to be both hospitable and thankful for healthy children.  If you click on the orange word "TAYLOR" you can learn more about him.

A place I'd like to visit. - DISNEY!  I have my husband 80% convinced and it appears as if we will be going to Disney in MAY 2014.  This is NOT where I, personally, would like to go if I was going to travel with Darren somewhere, but as a parent you sacrifice your wants/desires for your children's wants/desires.

A letter I am going to write. - I want to write a heart felt letter to my mother. I am not always the most patient with her and as life goes on, I realize that life is precious and "but a vapor" and I do not want her to leave this earth with ME having regrets for what I didn't get to say to her.

A new food I'd like to try.  I'm not sure this is a food I'd "like" to try, but my BFF, Ashely, has promised me that her spinach protein shakes are so yummy.  So, I may give it a try because it can't hurt me.  It's filled with vitamins. AND I'm really NOT picky, so I'm sure I will like it.

I'm going to "do better" at… sitting still for even just fifteen minutes a day, to play with each one of my children individually.

Just a fun questionnaire.  What about you?  Fill me in.
