Where In The World Is Kristin Bolling?

Have you ever seen that week long segment on the Today Show where they send one of their hosts to different countries and you have to figure out, based on some clues or background sceneries, where they are? I feel like I am the host in question.  Over the last 3.5 weeks, I have traveled to (3) different cities for (3) different National competitions/games.  It was a ton of fun.  It was extremely expensive. And if I am honest, it was slightly exhausting.  Haha. It would have been nice for these events to be spread out over the course of the Summer, but I had zero control over the when! 

Myrtle Beach ~ Day #7

Just another day at the pool and beach!

 WHAT? Are my kids actually interacting QUIETLY, engaged, and happy?

 This was BY FAR MY FAVORITE color combination to DATE! Just unique and fun.

 I'm also pretty obsessed with my Liley's hairstyle. She sorta looks like Princess Leia AND I LOVE IT.

Twice blessed.

This kid is getting BIG! I blinked and he went from a sixe 8/10 to a size 14/16.

I am also pretty addicted to Lilah's freckles.  You don't see them that often, anymore, and I think it makes her unique looking.

I can't recall where we went to dinner, but Darren and I did take the kids putt-putt golf this night.  

Most families make this a beach tradition, but we do not.  I guess putt-putt is fun to kids, but Darren and I find golf beyond BORING.  I would truly rather watch the grass grow.    

 

Darren has been wanting a jeep, so we joked and said, "We finally took the plunge!" Haha.  What better place to cruise around in a Jeep Wrangler!

If I am NOT mistaken, Daren won the round of golf.  If we didn't hear it 100 times, we didn't hear it ONCE, "There's a whole lot of pizza left in that box!" AFTER EVERY SINGLE STROKE I TOOK. Darren hates to lose and he has all kinds of scare tactics and distraction techniques.  LOL! If he wins, I usually just say, "I let you win!" Oh man... that really gets him going.  LOL!

Myrtle Beach Day 4 ~ Spring Break 2017

On our last and final day, my hubby offered to take the kids to the pool while I explored Myrtle Beach's Hobby Lobby! Oh man... I put a major dent in our checking account there.  I spent well over $350 between decorations for Jax's new sports room, Mrs. Green's baby shower, and this amazing and ever so cool letter board by Heidi Swapp, which is WHY I set out to go to Hobby Lobby.  It's QUITE prices, but it's just too cool not to have for someone like me.  ABOVE: I made my favorite hashtag that I wish I could trademark, "Every little thing is a BIG deal!" If you look it up on Instagram, I am the ONLY person who has used it minus ONE post.  

I bought EVERYTHING that Hobby Lobby offered. I cannot wait to get more.  

I picked up Mission BBQ AND starbucks and met my family at the pool afterwards.

Later, we dressed up and headed to do a little unique shopping at World Market and then we stopped in Toys R Us to buy a laser tag gun kit that Jax saw on a commercial and wanted.  FYI, reason #3,201,564 WHY NOT having cable is wise.  We don't have cable at home, but we do have it at the beach.  I forget how enticing those commercials are.  LOL!  Jax had a gift card, so he chose to spend it on this item.

Our view at dinner was simply beautiful.  

We began our trip with a sunrise and we ended our trip with a sunset.  

I love seeing God's creation in action.

After we finished shopping, we went to Barefoot's Landing to eat.  Then we walked the shops.  

When we were through, we came home.  I packed up our suitcases and Darren snuggled with Liley playing a good 45 minutes of hangman on her boogie board.

The next morning, I woke quietly to clean our condo and snapped the below photo.  Too cute and funny! They sleep so good at the beach.  Don't we all.

On the way home, I grocery shopped from the front seat of my vehicle, while Darren drove.  I was ready to face MONDAY!

It's also a total joy to get away with the family.  We are so blessed to have a beach condo to call our own.  It's a gift and is cherished by every single one of us.

First Day At Myrtle Beach ~ Spring Break 2017

And off we went, to Myrtle Beach for Spring Break! Yahoo! I was completely fine with the dogs joining us, but I wasn't thrilled with them being in my car. I have gone since September, the month I got my brand new car, without having my dogs step foot in it EXCEPT for one time because they had a vet appointment.  Taking then to Myrtle Beach is NEVER an issue, but I did NOT want them in my new car.  Let's just say I have a little OCD issue.  LOL! I wrapped the car in clear paint tarps and all kinds blankets. [Insert crying emoji].

The first night, we ate at a Mexican restaurant  Then, we went to the new Publix grocery store that Bolling Steel built.  We got all of our groceries there. That's pretty much ALL we had time for.

The first FULL day at the beach, I started my day by watching the sunrise with Ty-Ty.  It was gorgeous.  We saw a TON of washed ashore jelly fish too! 

It's HARD to believe, but I truly took these photos with my iPhone! 

I love the seagull in this one, just soaring through the air.

The water was nippy, but the sun wasn't FULLY out, so we expected that.  

Simon and Sadie both were WIPED out after a full hour walk on the beach.

I am always thankful to have my little helper (Ty) with me.  He had actually whispered in my ear, the night before, "Mom, can we do what we usually do? Sneak out and walk the dogs in the morning?" I am NOT going to pass up that opportunity ever!

After the long walk and breakfast, it was time for some SUN and poolside FUN!

I love this stage of life that we are in.  We can just sit back, relax, and enjoy the poolside WITH or WITHOUT our kids.  I even fell asleep at one point with NOT a care in the world. The only time they really need us is when they are hungry!! This was the first year they cared about getting a sun tan, so they actually relaxed some too.  

Later that day, we went back to the beach and took the dogs with us again.  We hung out with the dogs while the kids rode the waves.

I captured this AMAZING shot of a seagull.  He was saving a nectarine pit.  I joked and said, "One man's junk is another man's treasure!"

Simon was SO hot, since he's black, that he kept trying to dig himself into the sand to cool off.  Smart dog.

We just let them go, but sorta kept up with them as the current pulled them.  I love that my kids are so brave and aren't afraid to explore, even IF they watched JAWS on the way down.  Eeeek!

 

 Raise the roof!  Ahahaha.  I have NO idea what he's doing here.  He's so silly.

Our fishing pier is under renovation.  This was the crane that was working on it.  You are still able to use the entire pier except for the very end of it, which we did.  

As much as I work out, I just have NEVER been satisfied with my legs.  I have been that way since I have been in the third grade.  So... I wore workout clothes to the pool and the beach the FIRST day.  It certainly provided my tan to be very goofy looking.  I looked like I had red trouser socks on. I definitely wore my bathing suit the next day to even things out, but my legs don't look any better TODAY (currently, as I type this).

Later that night, Darren treated us to a fabulous 5 star dinner, at Ruth Chris' Steakhouse.  

I always try to color coordinate our family because I know there will be wonderful photo opportunities.

I love when they get along!

Our waiter was actually an ELVIS impersonator outside of waiting tables.The kids convinced him to serenade us, but poor Lilah was also kissed.  Ewe! and Awkard! My Liley handled it so well: gracefully and respectfully.  

After dinner, we went to Broadway At The Beach!  Darren took Liley on a mini date.  They road the new ferris wheel together. She was so thrilled.

I thought I did a great job capturing this shot.  Isn't it beautiful? The skies declare HIS glory.
