You Are One [KOHL] Dad!
What do you get an amazing man for his birthday, who has reached his 70s, and is a simple person? I know, right? It's hard!!!! My father-in-law celebrated his birthday on October 22nd and I told him yesterday that it is really a challenge finding gifts for him. NOT because he isn't worthy. It's QUITE the opposite of that. BUT because he really doesn't need anything and as stated before, he's a simple man!

Dance Gifts!

Another dance competition means another "Bully Buddy" dance gift. I was very prepared this time because I was on the HUNT for this competition at the same time I was on the hunt for last competition. In the Summer, before each dancer is given a Bull Buddy, the dancers are ask to fill out a questionnaire about their LOVES and FAVS. Lilah's Bull Buddy, Elizabeth, wrote that she LOVES HedgeHogs. So I had my eyes pealed for HedgeHog items. Above: I found the cutest hedgehog mug at Five Below, only $5.00. She may not be a coffee drinker, but it will be perfect for hot cocoa.

A Trip To The Mall Of America!
This past weekend was my 42nd birthday! It's crazy to think that TWO FULL YEARS ago I turned 40. After celebrating my birthday this weekend and having an Instagram memory pop up, reminding me of my trip to the Mall Of America, I realized I never blogged about it. Sigh... A back log of two years? Really?! Really!!!

Virginia Warriors - AAU Basketball - Charlotte Bound
Well... we are those parents... the ones that travel with their kids, all over the place, so they can grow both their personal playing skills and team building skills. I once said, "NEVER!" and now I am hiding my face because my nevers became a reality. We officially signed up BOTH of our boys for travel basketball. They are on an AAU team, at the Virginia Warriors Complex. In less than a month, Jax has traveled to Winston Salem, NC and Charlotte, NC.
This weekend, we traveled to Charlotte and spent the entire weekend there.
Jax's team competed against teams from Charlotte, North Carolina and Miami, Florida. Can you imagine?
Our boys played HARD.
But it was really hard to compete against teams that were SOLELY fourth graders.
Our team consists of ONE second grader, mostly third graders, and several fourth graders.
I LOVE watching Jax play. HE is DEFINITELY a hustler.
Being on this team is growing him personally and "professionally", as an athlete.
We actually arrived into Charlotte hours and hours before the rest of the team arrived. We wanted to have a little family fun before hand. In between games and after the tournament was over, we were able to shop our little hearts out.

We also ate REALLY well. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory the first night.
We visited a ton of our favorite stores. And we also experienced Trader Joe's for the first time. My thoughts... "Meh!". It didn't excite me.
Then, the entire team went to Dave & Buster's.
Lilah won some chocolate ice cream poop emoji slippers.
On Sunday, we made sure to stop by IKEA and the "AT HOME" stores. I was in shopping Heaven.

I could get used to being a travel sports mom. I love getting to visit all of these big cities. I did miss our dogs a ton, but nothing replaces fun, memorable family time. Next up, we are off to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Shew! Life with boys is pretty BUSY!

Myrtle beach - July 2017 - Day #3

Day #3 started with a.... can you guess? A DOG WALK! The evidence were these pretty beach shots.
The NON-evidence was the fact that I arrived home sweaty, but with LAST NIGHT's make-up still in tact, thanks to my company's long lasting make-up. I am NOT proud of the fact that I went to bed wearing make-up. I fell asleep blogging, so it was accidental. BUT... how awesome that I can wake up looking ALMOST freshly showered and painted.
Day #3 was a Sunday, so we just threw on the clothes from the night before and rushed off to our church away from home. We've been several times and we really enjoy it. My kids stay so engaged. Jax even laughed so hard at one point the rest of the congregation laughed at his laugh. Haha. It's really easy to vacate from worship when you are traveling. Satan has a way of sneaking in and tempting you to be lazy and make excuses for not staying focused on #1. The sermon was great and just what our family needed.
After church, we ate lunch back at our condo and then headed out to the Tanger Outlets. ONE of our children wasn't interested in shopping, so we allowed HER to stay home, at the condo, while the rest of us shopped our little hearts out. Darren went ONE way, the boys went another, and I ANOTHER. We tried to knock out the stores that we each desired to target without dragging the others down. I love this stage of our lives because I can trust Ty to shop with Jax and Lilah to stay home if need be. When we all met back up, my boys had spent their OWN money and treated both Darren and I to a few things. They bough the a tank top and a pop socket for my cell phone. Isn't that so sweet?
Before we left for the Tanger Outlets, I left Sadie and Simon these adorable Sea Horse cookies. I brought them from home. Our local Pet Supplies store offers the cutest cookies. They are called Tail Waggers.
We had a semi- low key night. We took a walk on the beach and let the kids "night swim". They had such a blast.
It was hard capturing crisp photos because of the dark atmosphere and constant moving.

Cartwheels on the beach.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this shot of the Apache Pier.
My handsome hubby hanging on to the dogs while I snap a few photos of the kids.

And... back to the condo we go to wash off the sand and the ocean water...
