The Cat In The Hat's Party Food

The Dr. Seuss party is O-V-E-R! It was smooth sailing in all aspects. The ONLY complaint I have about this party is that it went so F-A-S-T. I had Tyson’s 4th birthday party at Pump-It-Up too and I recall leaving there feeling the same way. My suggestion, don’t have a party at Pump-It-Up if you desire to enjoy your birthday boy-girl, as well as your guests.
My parties main 3 focuses are always: invite, cake, and favors (and a few other important things). I’ve already blogged about the invitation, so check out the themed food and cake.

The food…

Drinks:  The children received either a red or blue juice with a decorative straw and their very own personalized water bottle (a separate post to follow on those soon!).

PIZZA- Pizza from Dominos.

Cat In The Hat Tomato & Mozzarella Skewers – I bought the mozzarella cheese balls and cherry tomatoes in bulk at Sam’s Club.  The assembly was simple.  Just stick them onto wooden skewers.
“Green Eggs and Ham” – The “green eggs” are made up of Wilton’s white chocolate candy melts and green m&ms. The “ham” is pretzel sticks.  I thought this was the cutest idea to go along with the book Green Eggs and Ham!
“One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Jello Fish” – Berry blue jello cups and red Swedish fish. Virtually the cheapest side "dish" I have every made.  All items under $1 a piece.  This snack was created to mock the book, "One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish."
“Clark” Fishes – Gold fish.  Notice the cute serving utensil fish net inserted into the bowl for our guests to use, to scoop the fish out.
“Thing 1 and Thing 2” Strawberries – Strawberries filled with cheesecake filling. I dyed the filling blue to replicate thing 1 and thing 2’s hair.
“Hop on Pop” Blueberry Popcorn – Seriously, the most delicious popcorn I have ever tasted in my life, not to mention fattening and addicting. I purchased it from etsy. This snack replicates the book "Hop on Pop".
Thing 1 and Thing 2 Cupcakes – Homemade cupcakes filled with my special French vanilla fill.  Aren't they so adorable?!?!?!
The Cat In The Hat Cake – This cake was a definite group effort. I was unable to start on this cake until the night before the party, 9:30 pm to be exact. Talk about stressful. I stayed up until 3:30 am AND it still wasn’t complete in my opinion. My dear friend Erin Carroll rescued the day with her artistic finishing touches. I baked, layered, skewered, frosted, and fondanted the cake. My step-mom stayed up with me until 3:30 am (keeping me company) and helping me lift the rolled fondant on top of the cake, as well as a few other finishing touches! Erin drew the black seussical lines on the cake and hand painted a Cat In The Hat face onto a fish bowl.

    1. I purchased them on etsy. If you put in "party favors" in my subject box, on the home screen of my blog, you should have direct access to the woman who did them for me. Let me know if you have any trouble. Thank you for stopping by!!!!
