An Undeniable HANDSOME Baby Gift

This is my NEW, favorite gift to give out, to any mommy of a newborn baby boy! SO... if you are reading this post and you are pregnant with a baby BOY, expect to receive one of these ;) Lucky YOU! Lunch Box Fun/Ideas

I have made it my mission to make this year's lunches fun, different, healthy, tasty, and creative. I am also not opposed to providing my children with a little "pick-me-up" or "sweet treat". After all, doesn't everyone enjoy an iced coffee, a handful of m&ms, or a donut in the office once in a while? Here are a few things that I am excited to include in my kiddos lunch boxes this year. Nothing over the top, just fun, different, healthy, tasty, and/or creative.

Pepperidge Farms Goldfish Bread: Easier than Cookie Cutters, NO Crust, Fun, & Thin.

I don't buy these often. Maybe once a month. There are so many different ways to make a sandwich fun and this is just one way. I also enjoy using crust and cookie cutters.

Jokes, Notes, Facts, Memories and Scripture: They look forward to it. It educates. It makes them laugh. It reminds them of your love for them. It encourages them to think of their God throughout the day.

The FACT below is what I included in Tyson's lunch box today.

Nabisco Honey Maid Grahamfuls: I'm sure yummy. Different from a boring old graham cracker. Not overly junkie.

I was super excited when I spotted these because MOST filled items are filled with cheese, peanut butter, vanilla, or chocolate (which Ty despises). SO... when I saw that these were banana filled, I snagged them. I hope Ty enjoyed this in his snack bag today.

Single Serving of Pistachios: Easy, Healthy, Fun to Eat, and Impossible to Overeat Due to It Being Prepackaged.

Anything prepackaged is always a little more expensive, so I don't normally buy prepackaged stuff, BUT these were on sale (10) for $10.00.

Kraft String Cheese that Looks Like Crayons: It Educates. It's Creative. It's Creates Enthusiasm to Eat It.

The latest hype is to market and promote foods geared towards children. These string cheeses look like crayons. What a great way to teach the younger ones their colors and get them excited about which color cheese they want to eat.

Perdue Lightening McQueen Chicken Nuggets: A BOY'S DREAM COME TRUE!

I have YET to find this product, but spotted it in a magazine recently. Please let me know if you find these anywhere. MY ONLY CONCERN is that my boys will decide to use these as toys, instead of as nourishment (as nourishing as they can be). Of course, if I find them, I will only be serving them for lunch at home. I don't trust chicken nuggets in a lunch box. Would you?

I enjoy visiting different stores throughout the Roanoke Valley because I am always finding items that one store carries, but other stores do not. Target and Food Lion, believe it or not, are great for new finds.

Happy Father's Day DAD!!!!

Ahhh, what can I say!!! I truly believe my children have the best father anyone could ask for. He's down right HAPPY to be a dad. I knew when I married you honey you would be a good dad, but I truly had no idea you'd be THIS GOOD!!!!

Unfortunately, we were traveling back from Myrtle Beach on Father's Day so we were unable to really celebrate. I still owe Darren a nice home-cooked meal, but we did take daddy to breakfast and treated him with love and kindness all day plus showered him with some nice gifts. Take a peak because some of the gifts may be things you just might be interested in :)

First up, funny cards. I guess one could gather, from the cards, that Darren is a typical man. PS. I love the Dollar Tree. You get 2 cards for $1.00. I thought these were funny, but if you prefer sentimental/mooshy cards, they have those too. Lilah gave one of those to her daddy!

Next up, a special book created for Darren by Tyson an myself. I caught wind of an amazing coupon code that "Paper Cotiere" was offering, for father's day, and I couldn't resist. This personalized photo book titled, "All About My Dad" was originally $39.00 plus shipping and Paper Cotiere" was offering it for 60% off. The grand total of this book was only $16.00. Excellente!!!!

It was so much fun putting this book together. It forced me to go through 3 years worth of picasa photo albums and allowed me to revisit many wonderful memories that we've had as a family.... oddly enough some that I had forgotten. It is a 32 page photo book that is accompanied by questions or"fill in the blank" areas for Tyson to fill in. Darren was so appreciative of this book. After Tyson presented it to him, Darren came and found me and gave me a hug and thanked me too. I think it really meant a lot to him. Ty did a really good job filling it in. Here are a few of my favorite pages.

Next up, "YOnanas". I saw this item in a magazine, but was unsure of where it was sold. I also didn't know if it was legit or not. I then ran into "yonanas" randomly at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. After reading all of the reviews (yes, I am a review reader), I was convinced to buy it. What is this? Basically, it is a soft serve "ice cream" machine, BUT.... as we all know Darren is Mr. Health Concious and wouldn't dare eat ice cream, so WHY did I get this for him? The soft serve "ice cream" is made strictly from NATURAL ingredients, such as a single frozen banana. Pop a single, frozen banana into this machine and waaaalaaaa.... you get frozen banana yogurt. Darren has tried it with just bananas and then with bananas and strawberries (frozen). He said, "It's delicious. Tastes just like ice cream, but the clean up involved is not entirely worth doing this that often." I have yet to try the "yonana" machine, but I am anxiously awaiting to try the recipe called "pecan pie". The ingredients are completely healthy (frozen banana, frozen dates, and pecans). Finally, a iHOME Ipad Alarm Clock/Docking System - This makes Darren's night stand look modernized. AND It's a convenient/safe way to keep his ipad charged and "put away". It has all kinds of cool features. Of course it's not on my side of the bed, so I can't enjoy them :( Haha. It's probably better that way. I would be up all night playing on the ipad.

Long Story Short

For Christmas, Darren is always certain to find a really great spiritual item for me. Last year, I got my very own leather bound ESV Bible. This year, I received the above book titled, "Long Story Short" by Marty Machowski.

The phrase "gospel-centered" is an easy label to tag on a book these days just to sell a few extra copies. Long Story Short, however, is the last book that could be accused of such a move.

This book, from beginning to end, is about Jesus in the Old Testament. The layout is attractive and the structure is simple. As mothers and fathers, our time is very limited but it's pertinent that we are the primary people who are teaching our children the gospel, versus depending solely on the church! That's what's so attractive about this book. Each page contains a ten-minute devotional that helps draw your family to God. Ten minutes is totally doable. Right? Don't get me wrong... that's NOT the only time we are making the gospel known in our home, but these 10 minute devotionals are informative, Christ-centered, and just enough information to keep your little one's attention.

Every devotional presents an Old Testament passage. You and your children "study" it and then connect it to Jesus. As the author himself says, " Long Story Short connects each story to God's larger redemptive plan. Every lesson answers the question, 'Where is Jesus in this lesson?'"

Sadly to say, after clearing up the Christmas clutter and organizing all of our gifts, I placed this one on the bookshelf and didn't pick it up until this summer. It was probably a good thing because Lilah and Jaxon would have been way too little to sit still for even ten minutes back then. Now they have a 10 minute attention span. So I picked up the book this summer and have begun the lessons with my kiddos.

I think you will LOVE this book. Check it out on amazon and read some of the reviews. It received 5 stars.

You could also watch this youtube video on how this book came about from the author Marty Machowski. He speaks about how overwhelming it is to teach your children the gospel. The bible is so big. "Where do we begin?"

A MUST BUY!!!!

I purchased this cd over the weekend, at the Christian Bookstore, for the kids. OH MY GOSH! I think I like it just as much as they do, if not more.  I find the veggie tales' voices to get quite annoying after a few minutes, but this cd is so amazing and their voices are actually insanely cute.  Ever heard a cucumber sing "Your Grace Is Enough?"  LOL!

The cd features 10 songs - many of them are my favorite worship songs!

The attached you tube video is one of the songs from the actual cd. It has such a great beat and we've been blasting it all day long today. I took the twins' crib mattresses out of their cribs and let all three kids use them as trampolines today. The kids would run from my bathroom to the twins' room and JUMP onto the crib mattresses, all to the beat of this song.
