We arrived in Christiansburg FIRST where we took our kiddies to lunch at Chick-Fil-A, then to the Dollar Tree and Target. From there, we headed to Blacksburg to the Virginia Tech Bookstore. Upon exiting the book store, we decided to grab the strollers and Ty's scooter (left in the car from the park on Thursday) and decided to walk the entire campus of Virginia Tech University. It was so awesome to show the kids where daddy's first dorm was, where some of our classes were, and then where are apartment complex was as well. We even showed Tyson where daddy broke his elbow, arm wrestling. The kids were enjoying themselves so much. Ty even exclaimed, "Can we please stay here for another hour?"
(This was a picture taken in front of "Grandad's" dorm. )
We toured the campus for over 2 hours. The weather was slightly cool, but it was manageable since we were walking fast.
(These Hokie birds are spread out all around the campus.)
On our way back to Roanoke, we stopped at the Olive Garden in Christiansburg for dinner. The day was eventful and fun!!! Certainly beats a day at home. I LOVE FRESH AIR! The only bummer was, unbeknownst to us, Spring break had just started on Friday. The campus was E-M-P-T-Y.
We were in Christiansburg/Blacksburg for over 5 hours. We allowed the kids to skip their nap to enjoy the day, so on the way home, Jax conked out.
