What do you get an amazing man for his birthday, who has reached his 70s, and is a simple person? I know, right? It's hard!!!! My father-in-law celebrated his birthday on October 22nd and I told him yesterday that it is really a challenge finding gifts for him.  NOT because he isn't worthy. It's QUITE the opposite of that. BUT because he really doesn't need anything and as stated before, he's a simple man!

Free Vs. Ownership

Last week, I had an all day, 9 hours straight, work day. I worked my business every waking hour my children were gone from my home. ALL DAY, I knew what I wanted to share with my followers on social media, but I didn’t have time to collect my thoughts and generate a post. It started with a 7:45 am skincare appointment with Amy Crawley. I immediately came home and started packaging up 12 shipments. Yes 12 🤯!!!! I paused packaging shipments to make a delivery to Shannon Waddell. Our meeting spot is always Starbucks. In between all of the above, my phone was blowing up from orders rolling in by Pat Brown, Tabitha Woodard, Emily Liberi, Lori Brown, and Emily Appleby, just to name a few! I felt on top of the world that day, as a LipBoss. I felt so amazing knowing that my customers love our products enough and trust and appreciate my role as their LipBoss enough to give me their business.

A Break From Dancing...

After the girls danced in their first competition, they were released for the rest of the day.  I think we were released around 4 pm. My friend Lori and her daughter Ella were staying at a beautiful resort, on the beach, about 20 minutes from our hotel, called the Cavalier . She invited us to join them at the resort's poolside BBQ. I was excited for my kids because they said they would NOT leave Virginia Beach without seeing the beach. Even though we live in Virginia, my kids have never been to Virginia Beach before (minus Ty, but he was like 2 months old when we took him.).

... Continued... (I'm only two months behind in the blogging world, SIGH). After Tyson's Nationals in Myrtle Beach, we loaded up our vehicles.  Darren and the dogs returned to Roanoke. The kids and I went to Virginia Beach for Lilah's Nationals.  Lilah is SOOOOO not used to use being a divided family that departing from her daddy was so hard. She cried herself into a nap.

September 11th!

No matter how much time goes by, I'll never forget where I was when I heard of the first plane flying into one of the twin towers.  On September 11, 2001, our world changed forever.  The images from the Twin Towers, Pentagon, and a field in Shanksville, PA are forever etched in our memories.  We also know where some of our Bravest and Finest were on that September morning.  They were rushing into the fray risking, and at times giving their lives, to save the lives of others. My heart feels so much sadness even to this day.

These senseless acts of violence and attacks on our nation remind me just how much sin is a ripple effect.  One person's sinful actions, words, and behaviors effect sooooo many people, generation after generation after generation. What devastation.  What loss.

I Officially Have A High Schooler!

WOW! Just wow! Summer is gone. G-O-N-E.  I cannot believe it.  I officially have a high schooler now and my twins are in their last year of elementary school! What-The-What!!!!!!!?? As usual, one of our back to school traditions is taking photos the DAY or DAY before. Trying to capture a few good photos the morning of NEVER works! And the weather is always so unpredictable so I enjoy setting aside some time to capture my children, in their back to school clothing, in a less stressful time frame/environment.

Where In The World Is Kristin Bolling?

Have you ever seen that week long segment on the Today Show where they send one of their hosts to different countries and you have to figure out, based on some clues or background sceneries, where they are? I feel like I am the host in question.  Over the last 3.5 weeks, I have traveled to (3) different cities for (3) different National competitions/games.  It was a ton of fun.  It was extremely expensive. And if I am honest, it was slightly exhausting.  Haha. It would have been nice for these events to be spread out over the course of the Summer, but I had zero control over the when!

One of my favorite holidays to celebrate with my little tribe is Father's Day because my children truly have one of the best men this world could offer them. I believe he is "THE BEST"! And he deserves a special day, set aside, just for him.

Day #2 Continued...

Oh you know, it's only been three months since we completed our trip to Orlando and a month since I last posted on it. Haha.  Oh well, as they say, "Better Late Than Never!" I will continue to blame it on my kids' intense schedules. Yes, it's Summer, but nothing is SLOWING down. It has actually been a blessing that school is out because this extra curricular schedule could not be maintained throughout the year. We are in the height of AAU Basketball season and dance stuff is keeping us busy and traveling. We just realized that both Ty's nationals and Lilah's Nationals are at the same time, different beaches. Sigh... It will be a mystery on how we handle that dilemma.

I am really jumping topics every day week on this blog.  SMH.  Haha.  I am hopping from vacations, to business trips, to birthday gifts, and back to vacations. There is just never a dull moment. I think it keeps things interesting (you know, just incase a certain topic doesn't interest my readers).  We'll make the next two months like a soap opera or a sequel.  

Day #2 - Islands Of Adventures

On Day #2 of our trip, we started out at Islands Of Adventures! This is an Orlando park that I had never been to before, which is always nice to explore a "FIRST" at 42 years of age. None of us knew what to expect, but we were excited. I did prepare the birthday twins with matching minion shirts though and they were so exited and appreciative.  Other than the fact that my shirt is CRAZY SEE THROUGH (SMH) do yo notice what is on it? Bananas!!!! Minions favorite!

So aside from the trip to Universal Studios, WHICH was supposed to be Lilah and Jax's birthday gift (but that's always hard to stick to), they each received a BIG gift and then some little gifts. We always try to make everything financially "Even Steven".

Tulsa Bound!

Well, the day has arrived.  Our Company's 20th Anniversary "EVOLVE" Seminar is this weekend. I have been signed up for almost a full year.  I am beyond thankful to my amazing husband for giving me this opportunity to EVOLVE/grow both personally and professionally.  I went bed at midnight, prepping for my departure and had to wake up at 3:00 a.m. to shower.  Even if I am tired, I will NOT let my body feel it. I'll just play catch up when I get home.  I am Tulsa Bound until Monday morning.

Day 1 - Universal Studios Orlando

As previously mentioned, Darren and I had plans to do Universal Studios on Saturday and Islands of Adventure on Sunday BUT, we found out that our tickets were "BOGO:  buy one day at Universal, get another day at Universal for FREE!" We didn't find this out until we were standing in our hotel lobby picking up our tickets. SO, after we ate lunch, we headed to Universal Studios to begin our adventure.  We aren't those types of people that grab a park map and design a plan.  We just aren't planners normally, so we certainly didn't want to start become a planner on vacation. Truthfully, I think our days are filled with so much routine and so much scheduling as it is, that it would have been more like work, instead of fun to "map" it all out.

It’s been a while since I did a “Getting To Know You” post... Did you know that the 11th most searched word on the internet is the word "sex"? AND NOT just by adults. Kids are hearing that word at school and are curious what it means. So they look it up on Google.  Lord God, please NEVER have my children look up that word... Oh the visual images that they will see will haunt them for life. 😫😮 😢  Keep reading!

Welcome Back... To Birthday Gifts!

On March 25th, my twins' ACTUAL birthday, we had to wake up at 2:30 a.m. to head to the airport and ultimately HOME to Roanoke.  It wasn't the best day to travel.  The timing was quite frankly BAD, but we flew Allegiant Airlines and they only offer 2 days a week to fly.  Originally, our gift to the twins WAS the trip, but I KNEW in my heart that I couldn't stick to that because of the fact that on their special day they would be consumed with jet lag and an early a.m. wake up calls.  I planned ahead and had gifts READY to greet them when we arrived home.

Universal Studios Bound!

The day arrived... we had to be at the airport by 6:45 a.m..  Our flight left at 8:35 a.m. My kids were excited as ever.  The last time they flew on an airplane was when we took a 10 day trip to all of the Disney Parks.  You can visit that trip by using our search box, on the homepage of our blog! Lilah and Jax had their birthday shirts on and they were already receiving all kinds of attention from the airport employees and attendees.  

Thing 1 and Thing 2 - What's Inside The Box!?

WE ARE BACK from our glorious trip.  It was AMAZING and just the perfect amount of time.  I think another day longer and we would have just hung out by the pool, at our resort. (3)-12 hour days of walking parks is enough to make your big toes bruise. LITERALLY, haha. We finished EVERYTHING that interested us!!! So we can officially say, we left our mark at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. NOW, I will spend the next week blogging ALL OF THE DETAILS about the trip reveal and the actual trip.  The question that has everyone curious is, what was inside those Thing 1 and Thing 2 boxes that were used as decorations for the twins' trip reveal?

Oh The Places They'll Go! - Trip Reveal

My twinsies turn a decade old on March 25th.  Lately, I am ALL about collecting moments, not things. Time is traveling fast and although I am exhausted and ready for a slower pace, I am finally at the stage where I am NOT ready for my kids to grow up. Clearly, it's too late ahem.... 10.  My children are very blessed and by blessed I mean beyond measure. So, rather than spending countless hours planning a party and spending ungodly amounts of money to host a party... Darren and I deiced to celebrate the twins in a mightier way. We decided to travel to a vacation spot ONLY Darren and I have been to before. So, this experience, is a NEW experience.  

Dance Gifts!

Another dance competition means another "Bully Buddy" dance gift.  I was very prepared this time because I was on the HUNT for this competition at the same time I was on the hunt for last competition. In the Summer, before each dancer is given a Bull Buddy, the dancers are ask to fill out a questionnaire about their LOVES and FAVS.  Lilah's Bull Buddy, Elizabeth, wrote that she LOVES HedgeHogs.  So I had my eyes pealed for HedgeHog items.  Above: I found the cutest hedgehog mug at Five Below, only $5.00.  She may not be a coffee drinker, but it will be perfect for hot cocoa.  

Dance Machine PRO Competition - 2019

Lilah had two competitions back to back, within two weekends.  This time, the competition was local and was through  Dance Machine PRO. The competition was held at the Civic Center.  We had an early call time, 9:49 a.m.  Her first dance was at 10:49 a.m. "Call time" means that she has to be at the Berglund Center and READY to go, by that time, just incase they are running early.  We arrived promptly.  

"GOOD LUCK" Dance Gift!

I was racking my brains trying to design a great dance gift and nothing was satisfying me. So instead... I utilized the holiday that is right around the corner, St. Patrick's Day, and designed the prettiest gift basket for our weekend in Charlotte for the Hollywood Dance Jamz Convention/Competiton. The basket was all about "GOOD LUCK". Okay, so I do not think the right terminology is "Good Luck!" I think saying that is actually "bad luck", but since I don't believe in LUCK, but rather JESUS.... I proceeded with my dance gift for BOTH Lilah and her "Bull Buddy", Elizabeth. 

Hollywood Dance Jamz - 2019

Life seems close to insane lately.  As of last week, I was preparing and planning for (3) events/trips ALL within the next 30 days.  In addition to two dance competitions and basketball tournaments.  What a whirlwind.  I am thankful that ONE of those travel events is now complete.  Lilah had her first out of town dance competition in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was called Hollywood Dance Jamz. It was an entire fun-filled packed weekend of convention classes and dance competitions.  Lilah was blessed to be taught by choreographers who have worked with celebrities such as Brittney Spears, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Nelly, Taylor Swift, Ricky Martin, and  Busta Rhymes are just to name a few.  Lilah was super excited to spend the entire weekend with her dancing friend Ella, attend convention classes, and compete. 

Happy Birthday "BIG D"!

I haven't posted in 5 days... for a GOOD REASON... my Hubby's Big D's birthday was yesterday and outside of an amazing sales week/appointments with customers and LIFE, my main focus was shopping, planning, and designing his day to be as special as possible. It's is getting harder and harder to make things special and unique because we have everything and we have been together since we've been 15 1/2.  I'm doing the best I can to continue making his birthdays as amazing as he is.

With just a little less than a week before Christmas, our elves arrived with the cutest baker's cap and apron that read, "I love my elf" and "I love my family!" AND we LOVE Jesus, so we were excited when we saw that they left us all of the necessary goodies to bake a cake for Him, for His birthday!

Oh the morning of the day that the LAST Annie show would be performed, our elves knew that the ride home would be so sad!  So they hid in the car, buckled up, and were ready to support Lilah's emotions, both to the theater and home from the theater.  

Basketball & Jax....

Oh my Jax... this kid is on FIRE on the B-Ball Court! The cool thing is... he doesn't even know it. I guess you could say that that makes him a very humble and selfless team player.  If there is ONE THING that both Darren and I CANNOT stand it is a BALL HOG! I'm not sure what's worse... daddy ball or ball hoggers. I'd say they are pretty neck and neck. Game after game, I have watched Jax literally STOP dead in his tracks to pass the ball to his teammates, when he could easily attempt toscore. I've witnessed extreme emotions displayed by Ty when the entire game was played by one or more players who's vision, as soon as they get the ball, is to score and say, "Look At Me".   TEAM = TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE! If you desire to win or at the very minimum learn, you must work as a team. 

World Class Talent Entertainment - 2019

Wow! Has it really been five days since I have posted? Life has been CRAZY, with a capital C.  I just couldn't spend time at my computer last week. There were far too many pressing things happening, like... Valentine's Day, classroom parties, basketball games, basketball practices, dance practices, and a dance competition just to name a few....

A Trip To The Mall Of America!

This past weekend was my 42nd birthday! It's crazy to think that TWO FULL YEARS ago I turned 40. After celebrating my birthday this weekend and having an Instagram memory pop up, reminding me of my trip to the Mall Of America, I realized I never blogged about it. Sigh... A back log of two years? Really?! Really!!!
